About the Blog

Our blog “US Environmental Policy” is meant to be a resource that people can use to determine what congressional bills they should and should not support if they want to help the environment. Our contributors include Donnie Sengstack, Nicole Coletti, Christine Ennis, Rachel Coonan, and Sarah Lang. You can read more about them in their individual introductory posts.

climate

Our position is that climate change is real and is a threat to the planet. We also believe humans can help to mitigate this threat. It is important that people are informed as to which congressional bills will help the environment and which will hurt the environment.

Nicole Coletti

IMG_0507Hi! My name is Nicole Coletti, and I’m a senior Communications and Government and Politics double major here at the University of Maryland. As a Government and Politics student, I’ve been following the policy debates over climate change, and I hope that I’ll be able to spur some policy changes or at least get people thinking about them. With the recent Paris Summit and our upcoming elections, this is a topic that we should be thinking and talking about in more detail.

I’m from Florida and I travel all the time to beautiful spots like Arizona, Colorado, Maine and the Canadian Rockies.  I’m interested in this topic because I want my kids and their kids to one day see places the way I saw it. The world is to precious to take advantage of all the beautiful paradises that were placed on this earth!
